Obituary for Waide K. Ross
Ross, Waide K. , 87. Summerhill entered into new life June 30, 2019 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born April 4, 1932 in Summerhill Twp. the son of Clell and Effie (Coleman) Ross. Preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Lloyd, Harold, Ivan, and Lester, and sisters; Emma Stormer, Jean Kroskie, and Anna Stombaugh. Survived by his wife of almost 68 years the former Gertie Adams, and children: Gerald “Butch” (Sandee) Ross of Woodstock, VA; Patsy Ann (Daniel) Senft of Seesetown; Denise (George) Davis of Lebanon, PA; Danny “Boone” (Marian) Ross of Carrolltown; Pamula (Doug) Brydon of Salix; Randy of Summerhill; and Rana (Matt) Montague of Summerhill. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and 37 great grandchildren. Waide was the last member of his immediate family. He retired as a Millwright from the Gautier Division of Bethlehem Steel. He was a member of the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church. He worked for the Rudolph Seckinger and its successor Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home for over 40 years. Waide was known for his many one line sayings, one of his favorite was “let’s go home” , today, he was granted that wish. He was a loving husband, father, and pap who’s “everything” was his family. Friends received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Portage, and from 10 AM until time of service 11 AM Wednesday at the Mt. Olive United Methodist Church, Rev. Thomas Moore officiating. Interment church cemetery. In lieu of flowers family ask contribution be made to the camping fund at Mt. Olive Church.
