Obituary for Suzanne Shevock
Shevock, Suzanne (Marnechek) “Aunt Susie”, 99, Portage entered into new life December 4, 2019 at Maple Winds Care Center. Born August 12, 1920 in Cresson Twp. the daughter of Charles and Susan (Prokop) Marnechek . Preceded in death by her parents, husband Frank and siblings: Mary Samborsky, Fr. John, Michael, George, Peter, Veronica Chervenak, Anne Dziabo, Paul, Joseph and Margaret Leahey. Survived by her children: Janet wife of Francis Orlosky of Columbia MD; Frank Jr. married to Darlene of Sidman; and Susan Shevock of Portage. Also grandchildren John (Linda) Orlosky and Sherri (Joe) Haigh, great grandchildren; Allison, Andrew and Michael Orlosky and Anna, Teresa, Patrick, Danny and Mary Haigh. Last member of her immediate family. She was a graduate of Johnstown Mercy Hospital School of Nursing. Worked for over 30 years at the then Cresson Sanatorium and Cresson Center retiring as the night nursing supervisor. She loved to travel and enjoyed cooking, baking, and shopping. She was very generous to her grand and great grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Family and friends are encouraged to attend her Funeral Mass , 10 AM Tuesday at Holy Family Church, Portage. Fr. Tom Stabile, T.O.R ., celebrant. Committal at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Cresson. In lieu of flowers family ask contributions be made to Portage Area Ambulance Association. Family would also like to thank the staff of Maple Winds Care Center for their compassionate care. Family is being served by the Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Portage.
