Obituary for Susanna "Sue" (Kmiecik) Maul
Maul, Susanna “Sue” (Kmiecik), 61, Portage. Entered into new life august 25, 2021 at home. Born August 18, 1960 in Altoona, the daughter of the late Steven and Ann(Zock) Kmiecik. Preceded in death by her brother Stephen, maternal and paternal grandparents , father in law Richard “Dick” Maul and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She is survived by the “love of her life” Harry “Manny” Maul whom she married January 17, 1986. Daughter Kelly and husband Pat McCarty . She was the proud grandmother of Kylee (Andy Bender), Patrick and Kiera McCarty all of Portage. Sister of Claudia (Terry) Spittal, and Lori (David) Schultz. Also surviving is her mother in law Pear Maul and in laws; Richard (Naomi) Maul; Walter (Bern) Maul; Tim (Brenda) Maul; Alfred (Diana) Maul; Dave Maul, and Jenney (Jeff) Williams. Special nieces and caregivers Kaitlin and Ashlyn Cann and her faithful canine companion Molly. Sue was last employed by Merakey in Portage. She enjoyed camping in Potter County with her husband, riding her side by side, and scratching lottery tickets. She was given an additional two years of life thanks to the anonymous gift of a kidney and liver. These two years were often a struggle but she never gave up her will to be home with her family. Friends received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Friday at the Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Portage. Funeral Service 10 AM Saturday First Lutheran Church, Portage, Rev. Mark Fisher, officiating. Interment Lillydale Cemetery. The family would like to thank Select Speciality of Johnstown , Conemaugh Home Health and all of the family and friends who helped with her care. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to help with final expenses.
