Obituary for Shirley Frieko
Shirley Ellen Frieko went to her eternal rest on January 21, 2018, at MMW Hospice in New York City. She was born in Dunlo, PA on June 25, 1947, the youngest child of John and Ellen (Fujko) Frieko. Survived by sister, Nancy Vajo, and brothers John (Emma), James (Cecelia) and Raymond (Carol). A brother Richard, died in childhood. Sixteen nieces and nephews and their spouses will miss Aunt Shirley, as well as thirteen great nieces and nephews. After graduating from Adams-Summerhill High School in 1965, Shirley moved to New York City, where she resided in an international boarding house. The friendships she made there, offered her many opportunities for international travel, which was a lifelong source of enjoyment to her. Shirley was very involved in her church and volunteered for many causes that were important to her. She worked independently as a computer consultant. A Memorial Service was held in New York City and a Memorial Mass will be held at 10 AM on February 10, 2018, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in St. Michael, PA. Fr. James Sheehan, a friend of Shirley’s, will officiate. Interment at Corpus Christi Church Cemetery, Dunlo.
