Obituary for Papa Hoss
Kakabar, Ronald J. Sr. “Papa Hoss”, 76 Beaverdale, PA. Died March 22, 2024 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born in Johnstown, July 28, 1947 the son of John and Frances O. (Wolaston) Kakabar. Preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Mary Selepak, Ruth Piekarski, Dorothy Selepak and Bill Kakabar. Survived by his wife of 51years the former Beverly Diebert, and children, Ronald J. Kakabar, Jr. “Hoss” and fiancé Laura Troy of Beaverdale, Vanessa and significant other Cory Adams of Nanty Glo . He was the proud grandfather of Purdue graduate Devon Kakabar of Beaverdale. He will be missed by his faithful canine companion, Toby. Ron was a Navy Veteran and was a proud coal miner. He was a member of the Beaverdale American Legion, Beaverdale Sportsmen, and the Summerhill Twp. Volunteer Fire Company. He enjoyed camping and was an avid outdoorsman and sports enthusiast especially hockey. Ron was very community minded and would lend a hand where ever needed. Friends received Monday, March 25, 2024 from 2-4 PM and 6PM until time of service at 7:30 PM at the Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Beaverdale, PA . Veterans service 7 PM. Fire Company service 7:30 PM. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Summerhill Twp. Volunteer Fire Company or “Angel Meals” c/o Mt. Zion Reform Church of Pavia. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Laura D., Stephanie C., Bill Y., Sheila H., and Mark N. for their comforting help and support.
