Obituary for Larue P. Thompson
Thompson, Larue P. (Rudolph) Piper, 95, Portage. Entered into new life January 8, 2019 at Maple Winds Care Center. Born September 8, 1923 in Washington Twp. the daughter of William and Mable (Mosteller) Rudolph. Preceded in death by her parents and husbands Walter P. Piper and William H. Thompson, son Leslie Piper, stepson Samuel Thompson, eight brothers and sisters. Survived by her son Larry Piper of Portage, stepchildren: Linda Schmuck of Somerset; William (Marion) Thompson of Naples Fl; Kimberly (Keith) Kerns of Cincinnati, OH; and daughter in law Bobbi Piper of Ephrata, PA. grandchildren and step grandchildren Also surviving her are close friends Rhea Hornyak and Jim and Joy Powers and her Bethany Church family. Larue loved music and at one time was a member of the Johnstown Symphony Coral , and Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church, Johnstown where she was a member of the choir. She worked at Penn Traffic for a number of years and retired from the Richland School District. Friends received from 6-8 PM Thursday at the Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Portage. Funeral Service 11 AM Friday Bethany United Methodist Church, Rev. Art Black officiating. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
