Obituary for John H. "Bud" McClelland
McClelland, John H. , 92, Beaverdale. Died December 3, 2017 at home. Born March 29, 1925 in Beaverdale the son of Howard and Barbara (Dick) McClelland. Preceded in death by his parents and brother Joseph E.. Survived by his wife the former Gloria Cherico and sons: John H. "Bud" married to the former Ruth Mangus of Sidman; Donald A. married to the former Gayle Wieshier of Beaverdale; and Ronald C. married to the former Patti Thomas of Beaverdale. Grandchildren: Donnie (Karah), Megan, Richard, Brittany (Alec) Nedimyer, Aaron, Ian and Amanda Cardone. Great grandchildren: Jackson, Madison, and Garret. Sister of Delores M. wife of Charles W. Johnson of Beaverdale.
Bud was a WWII Veteran of the Army Air Corps with 16 bombing missions in the Pacific Theater, he was truly part of the greatest generation. Bud retired at Bethlehem Steel as a welder with 30+ years service and was the patriarch of Bud’s Auto Sales and continued to be active in the auto business through the last days of his life. Also he was a member with the Beaverdale Lions Club, a lifetime member of the American Legion, a Free Mason and was a member of the United Methodist Church in Beaverdale. He surely will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Friends received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Tuesday at the Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Beaverdale. Funeral Service 11 AM Wednesday at the Beaverdale United Methodist Church, Rev. Ed Wagner officiating. Interment Dunlo United Methodist Cemetery. Military graveside rites by the Beaverdale American Legion.
