Obituary for Jeanette L. Smith
Smith, Jeanette L. 45, Ebensburg, formerly of Portage, PA. Entered into new life peacefully with her family by her side after a long courageous battle with her childhood illness. She was born September 2, 1978 in Johnstown the daughter of James W. and Elaine F. (Craig) Smith. Preceded in death by her maternal and paternal grandparents and her father James W. Smith. Survived by her mother Elaine and friend Joe Beltowski of Ebensburg and sisters Angie Cochran and friend Joe Cabala of Portage and Kayla Verbic of Piney Point, MD. Also surviving are nephews Brady Cochran and Sawyer Verbic and niece Gabrielle Verbic. Jenny was a 1996 graduate of Portage Area High School, she loved to read, do crafts and listen to the Back Street Boys. She had a nurturing personality, loved to help people and was a friend to all she encountered. Friends received from 11 AM until time of service 1:30 PM Wednesday, November 22, 2023 at the Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Portage. Interment Mt. Union Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please make contributions to Portage Public Library.
