Obituary for James Gillespie
James Gillespie, 67, Johnstown, formerly of Portage and Loretto, passed away on February 26 at Memorial Medical Center. Jimmy was the son of James and Althea Gillespie. Jimmy made his home with Cambria Residential Services. He resided in Community Homes in Portage and Johnstown as well as a wonderful Life Sharing home with Betty and George Soisson and family of Loretto. Jimmy quickly became part of their family and he loved them all dearly. Jimmy was employed by the Cambria County Association for the Blind and Handicapped at the Ebensburg plant. He attended church at the Basilica of St. Michael the Archangel. Jimmy was a huge fan of fire trucks, ambulances, and elevators. Those things never failed to fascinate him. He has many friends and he enjoyed seeing all of them. Jimmy was truly one of the kindest people anyone could meet. His disability did not stop him from living and loving the life he had and everyone who met him is the better for it. Fly high Jimmy! You are loved! Friends will be received Wednesday March 3, 2021 from 11:30 AM until 12:30 Pm at the Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Portage.
