July 16,1942 - September 29,2024
James A Bryson , 82 of Portage PA passed away in the comfort of his home on September 29,2024.
James “Jim” was born to Thomas and Mary Joyce Bryson and was one of two children, his brother the late Thomas Bryson of New Florence, PA
Jim was married to Louise A Bryson up to the year of 1986 and had four children. Sherry Lynn, Cindy (Convery) married to Frank Convery, Sandra Rae Bryson and Jim Bryson married to Kitina (Hough)
James had a loving relationship with 5 grandchildren born to his daughter Cindy and son Jim. Cody Convery, Evan Convery, Edyn Deluca (Convery) and Joshua Bryson and Brock Bryson
Jim was a loyal member for years at the Jamestown Rod & Gun Club where he made many friends and participated in fishing, sporting and social activities.
He also enjoyed bluegrass music and going to bluegrass festivals.
He was an avid outdoorsman and took pleasure in nature’s beauty, primarily by hunting and fishing. He loved a great fishing story, liked to listen and tell them as well.
In his younger years, he liked to scout, hunt and aspire to seek the prize buck. But in his later years, he loved to listen to stories of his son and grandchildren’s hunting quests in the “woods.”
Let’s not talk turkey here, he loved to call in gobblers and passed this tradition on to his family of future hunters.
He loved to wave his terrible towel and stood behind the Steeler’s win or lose. He was also a fan of the Chicago Cubs and Pittsburgh Pirates.
He enjoyed attending family functions at holidays at birthdays and special events. He particularly loved his daughter’s spreads and great hospitality.
As of late, he enjoyed the small creatures that visited his yard, watching sports, and taking trips to the Buckhorn, the local ice cream stand.
He will be sadly missed and forever hold a special place in our hearts.
Until we meet again, Love you Dad!
