Obituary for Jackie Sue Kunko
Jackie Sue Kunko,64, passed at her home on Thursday, November 14 2024, with her family by her side after a heroic battle with cancer.
Jackie was born on May 29, 1960 in Johnstown PA to loving parents Albert and Sylvia Pfeilstucker.
Jackie was the devoted wife of Robert (Bob) and beloved mother of Matthew Kunko wife Adriana and Candi Kennedy husband Mark. The best "hamma" in the world to Ty Kennedy and Tayla Crum husband Caden. She was also a loving sister to surviving brother’s Danny and Patrick Pfeilstucker . She was also the best aunt and greatly loved by numerous nieces, nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. Jackie also shared a sisterly relationship with her cousin Patty Hunter.
Other than being devoted to family Jackie loved going to her camp with Bob and was an excellent fisherwoman, better than most men. She loved to cook and travel. She was always happy tasting different cuisines in her travels and fishing the local waterways.
Jackie was a graduate of Portage Area High School and attended 2 years at Saint Francis University on a basketball scholarship. She had a 36 year career at Skills of central Pa devoting her life to helping people with disabilities.
Jackie was proceeded in death by her parents Albert and Sylvia, brothers Alan and Mike. Sisters Kay, Thea, Anita, Colleen, and Kathleen, as well as special Aunt Yvonne.
Jackie touched so many people in her life and was an inspiration to many. She will be missed greatly and can now rest in peace with her family.
Jackie requested to have a celebration of life party instead of a funeral. That date will be determined at a later date.
Jackie also requested that any donations in her name would be greatly appreciated if made to UPMC hospice care. As they were wonderful in her final days.
