Obituary for Elwood L. Helsel
Helsel, Elwood L., 94, Portage. Died October 30, 2022 at home. Born July 30, 1928 in Blue Knob the son of Francis and Ethel (Long) Helsel. Preceded in death by his parents, wife the former Dolores Cocho and brothers Ralph, Zane, and Carl. Survived by his son Shawn and fiancé Amy Uveges of Portage, and daughter Gail Stancovich of Portage, PA. Step daughters Veronica Melcotti of Nanty Glo and Arlene Howard of Nanty Glo. Two grandsons, Four great grandchildren. Three step grand children and six step great grandchildren. Elwood was the last member of his immediate family. He was the owner/ operator of Helsel Excavating. At Elwood’s request all services are private. The Helsel family is being served by the Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Portage.
