Obituary for Elaine (Burkett) Sweltz
Sweltz, Elaine (Burkett), 97, Sidman. Died September 22, 2022 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born April 9, 1925 in Lloydell the daughter of Rush and Edna (Benton) Burkett. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Jacob Sweltz, sister Marguerite Burkett, and brother Dr. Donald Burkett, MD. Surviving are her children Kenneth Wayne Sweltz married to the former Gay Stravinsky of Beaverdale and Edna Lee Lewis wife of Matt Lewis of Piedmont, CA. Also surviving are grandchildren Laura Marie Sweltz, Jacob Wayne Sweltz, Casey Marguerite Lewis, Warren Rush Lewis and Fiona Elaine Lewis. Elaine was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was a life-long member of the Beaverdale United Methodist Church where she faithfully served in many capacities. She earned a BS degree from Temple University, and was employed as the secretary for Lick Run Coal Company, and operated the Peaceful Valley Ice Cream Stand. Friends received from 4-6 PM Sunday at the Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Beaverdale. Funeral Service 11 AM Monday at the Beaverdale United Methodist Church. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make donations in Elaine’s memory to the Beaverdale Public Library PO Box 606, Beaverdale, PA 15921
