Obituary for Edward J. Hudak

Hudak, Edward J., 62. Beaverdale. Died September 4, 2023 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born September 30,1960 in Johnstown the son of Michael P. and Rose Marie (Libertine) Hudak, Sr. Preceded in death by his parents. Ed was the youngest of three siblings and is survived by his sister Mary Beth and brother Michael, Jr. (Wendy). He dearly loved his niece Kristen Marie and nephew Michael III, and was always available to provide support and helpful advice. Ed considered Frank and Susan Cameron as members of the family. They always answered the call, and provided friendship and support through the good times and the challenges. Ed was the father of Stephen George and Juliann Marie. Ed was a true public servant who retired as a Deputy Sheriff from Cambria County, and also served as a police officer for both Adams and Jackson Townships. Ed was energized when serving his community at large. He was a lifetime member of the Summerhill Township Volunteer Fire Company, past President of the Cambria County Fireman’s Association, past Supervisor of Summerhill Township, and twice served on the Board of the Forest Hills School district where he was currently seated. If you knew Eddie, he was your devoted friend, who would cheer you on in good times and lend a helping hand when needed. While there are too many to mention here, he loved to stay in touch with lifelong school friends, past professional counterparts, fire service colleagues and others. Over the last few years Ed counted on each of you, and we, his family appreciate your love and kindness to him. At Ed’s request there will be no viewing or visitation. All are encouraged to attend a Memorial Mass, 11:30 AM Friday, September 8, 2023, at St. Michael Catholic Church in St. Michael, PA. Committal will be private to the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Summerhill Twp. Volunteer Fire Co. or the Beaverdale Public Library. GO RANGERS and HAIL TO PITT! The Hudak family is being served by Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Beaverdale, PA.
