Obituary for Donna J. (Gordon) Burket
Burket, Donna J. (Gordon), 85, Portage. Entered into new life July 31, 2020 at Maple Winds Care Center. Born June 15, 1935 in Johnstown the daughter of Alvin D. and E. Pearl (Stombaugh) Gordon. Preceded in death by her parents, first husband Walter Thomas, second husband Walter “Bug” Burket, brothers, Milfred “Flash” Gordon and Rev. Thomas Gordon. Survived by her children Daniel E. Burket of Portage and Kelly wife of James Battaglia of Rochester, PA, grandchildren ; Jesse, Kelsey and Jimmy and great grandchildren Mila and Roman. Donna retired from the Hollidaysburg Area School District with twenty three years of service. She was a member of PSEA. She loved to square dance and enjoyed going to shows at the Arcadia Theater with her friends, but her greatest joy was being with her family. Friends received from 6-8 PM Sunday at the Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Portage. Interment Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Johnstown. In lieu of flowers family requests donations be made to Parkinson research at The Michael J. Fox Foundation, PO Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 21741-5014. Due to the Covid -19 restrictions of requiring that a mask be worn and social distancing practiced the family understands if you are uncomfortable with coming to the funeral home, they ask that you remember Donna with a happy thought and a smile.
