Obituary for Dolores Meier
MEIER, Dolores A. -87- of Beaverdale, died May 22, 2021, at Maple Winds Care Center, Portage, PA. She was born December 6, 1933, in Beaverdale, the daughter of Eugene and Helen Krouse. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert , who died February 7, 2018; a son, David; a granddaughter, Melissa Meier; grandsons, Ardee Markel and Michael Meier, Jr.; a sister, Georgine; daughter-in-law, Rose Meier; and brothers-in-law Jim Canonie, Will McBride, and Richard Sewaki. She is survived by her children, Michael R. Meier (Susan), of Johnstown; Paul Meier, of Beaverdale; John Meier (Jan) Meier, of Maryland; Karen Markel, of Portage; and Barb (Lynn) Christ, of Gettysburg. She is the grandmother to Allen (Alexis) Meier, Sarah Meier, Angel Markel, Jesse (Melanie) Meier, Tabitha Meier, Becky Meier, Wesley Meier (Noah), Bryan (Gale) Christ, Paul Meier, Laura (Bob) Montgomery, Gregory Elersic. She also has numerous great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her daughter-in-law, Cheryl, of New York. She is the sister to Margaret Sewaki, Mildred McBride, and Loretta Canonie. She was a longtime member of the former St. Joseph Catholic church, Beaverdale, where she served as a choir member. She formerly shared her talents as an assistant leader of the Beaverdale Brownie Troop. Family will receive friends from 4 to 8 PM, Wednesday, at the Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Beaverdale. Funeral mass will be celebrated 10 AM, Thursday, at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, in St. Michael, the Rev. Msgr. David Lochard. Committal, St. Joseph Cemetery, Beaverdale.
