Bowen, Dianne, 74, Salix, PA, passed away April 3, 2023 at UMPC Somerset. She was born January 1, 1949 in Beaverdale the daughter of the late Charles and Dorothy (Mitchell) Potchak. ( Charles was one of eight siblings born in Wilmore, all six of the men served in WWII were honorably discharged and returned home. Dorothy was one of eight Beaverdale siblings, Dorothy and the six sisters were known as the “Mitchell girls”). Dianne is survived by her husband of 52 years Clark James Bowen. They were high school sweethearts and after her college graduation were married in Kenai, Alaska where Clark was teaching school. Dianne is also survived by her daughter Mical (Chris) Barosky and three beloved grandchildren, Gracie, Gavin and Gretchen who were the love of her life. She is also survived by her siblings David (Terri) Potchak, Stacie (Mike) Barston, and Daniel (Sherri) Potchak and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Shippensburg University, taught four years at Everett after returning from Alaska. She was also a substitute teacher at Forest Hills School district in Sidman with 28 years of service. She was a dedicated teacher with a special fondness for her students. Dianne was an avid camper for over 35 years who with Clark enjoyed their long time camping families and friends. Her wish was to touch lives and hearts. Friends received from 4- 8 PM Wednesday at the Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Beaverdale, where service will be held at 11 AM Thursday April 6, 2023. Entombment Forest Lawn Mausoleum, Johnstown.
