Obituary for Dennis Lee Petryshak
Petryshak, Dennis Lee, 84, Portage, PA passed away on March 31, 2023 at UPMC Altoona. He was born June 17, 1938, in Bakerton, PA to Nicholas and Mary (Smarsh) Petryshak. Preceded in death by his parents; sisters Ann Schmidt, Christine Byrne, Helen Palka; brothers Joseph and Nicholas Petryshak; daughter in law, Judith Petryshak. Dennis was the last member of his immediate family. Survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Rose(Sorrell) Petryshak; children, Scott (Lisa) Petryshak, Mark (Debbie) Petryshak, and Tina (Ken) Trimbath; grandchildren, Jamie (Doug) Hampton, Tyler (Chelsea) Trimbath, Ryan (Kelsey) Petryshak and Danyelle (Alex) Roberts; great grandchildren Elin and Gabriel Trimbath, Sophia and Camilla Roberts; numerous nieces and nephews, brother-in-laws and sister-in laws. Dennis proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and was a resident of the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home for the past year. Retired from SCI Cresson in 1999, Dennis was also a Realtor, selling many properties in and around the Portage area for many years. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time, but his greatest love in life was spending time with his family who were his pride and joy. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be sadly missed by all who were blessed to have known him. Friends received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM Sunday at the Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Portage. Funeral Mass 11 AM Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Portage, Fr. Ronald Osinski, celebrant. Committal St. Mary’s Cemetery, Portage. In lieu of flowers family ask contributions be made to the Hollidaysburg Veterans Home.
