Obituary for James E. Swope
Swope, James E. , 69, Beaverdale. Entered into new life August 14, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. Born July 7, 1949 in Johnstown the son of Robert and Florence (Townend) Swope. Preceded in death by his parents and sister Bertha Carrie Drake. Survived by his wife the former Mary E. Toth and adopted son Robert L. Swope. Step children Kerri Leventry and partner Jodi Moschgat and Michael married to the former Jennifer Polino. Grandchildren; Jacob, Grace and Brielle Leventrry. Brother of Maria Miller, Phyllis Custer, April Kiser and Sally “Jo” Waller. Jim was a career Navy veteran with over 20 years of service. He was the male voice of the gospel singing group”Threshold” that traveled throughout the country for over 20 years. At Jims request there will be no viewing or visitation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family is being served by the Jean H. Kinley Funeral Home, Beaverdale.
